Matthew Halsall & The Gondwana Orchestra presented an hour and a half set in Berlin last Saturday (09.05.2016) as one of the XJAZZ Festival highlights.
The concert they played was an evocative one. The music that we listened to, came into our souls in the form of peace, joy, elevation, pursuit of more…
Going from well known themes to their last album Into Forever, where the singer Josephine Oniyama also made her appearance, Matthew guided us through a meaningful and emotional evening. It doesn´t matter whether he´s playing the trumpet, arranging music effects or introducing the band´s themes, he offered us his sincere and emotive mien.
Matthew Halsall & The Gondwana Orchestra tour band consists of Luke Flowers on Drums (big clap), Gavin Barras on Bass, Taz Modi on Piano, Rachel Gladwin on Harp, wild and elegant Jordan Smart (also a member of Mammal Hands) on Saxophone and Matthew Halsall on Trumpet.
Whether you´re listening to “When the world was one”, “Falling Water”, “Patterns” or “Only a woman” a feeling of inner peace will prevail. Thanks Matthew Halsall & The Gondwana Orchestra for your music!
